Voorgaande behandelingen (conservatief) hebben onvoldoende verbetering gegeven. Om de pijnklachten te verlichten heeft uw arts een caudale epidurale injectie voorgesteld. Op deze pagina leest u meer over deze behandeling.<\/p>\n<h3>Doel van de behandeling<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/afb_cei.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Door het inspuiten van ontstekingsremmer neemt de irritatie in het wervelkanaal af. Hierdoor verminderen rugklachten en eventueel beenklachten en verbetert de mobiliteit.<\/p>\n<h3>Verloop van de behandeling<\/h3>\n<p>U ligt op uw buik op de behandeltafel. Eerst ontsmet de arts uw huid bij het staartbotje. Onder r\u00f6ntgen doorlichting plaatst de arts een dun naaldje in de hiatus sacralis. Dit is een kleine opening net boven het staartbotje. Vanaf die plek kan de ingespoten vloeistof omhoog lopen richting wervelkanaal. Om te controleren of het naaldje goed zit en de vloeistof ook daadwerkelijk in het wervelkanaal terechtkomt, spuit de arts een klein beetje contrastvloeistof in. First the medical practitioner will disinfect your skin around the coccyx. Under x-ray control the medical practitioner inserts a thin needle into the sacral hiatus. This is a small opening just above the coccyx. From here the injected fluid can move upwards towards the vertebral column. To check that the needle is in the correct position and that the fluid is actually reaching the vertebral column, the medical practitioner will inject a small amount of contrast agent.
